The Haryana Government launched the Pashu Kisan Credit Card (PKCC) Scheme to provide cattle farmers loans. To avail of the loan amount, animal owners need to have a Pashu Kisan Credit Card.

Haryana is the first state in India to implement this scheme. Initially, Pashu Kisan Credit Card was distributed among 101 in Bhiwani in Haryana. The government aims to provide a 10 lakhs card by March 2021.

What Are the Features & Objectives of the Pashu Kisan Credit Card Scheme?

The features of the PKCC scheme are discussed below –

  • Loan amount– Livestock owners, can get a maximum loan amount of up to ₹3 lakh. This scheme provides ₹40,783 for the cow, ₹60,249 for each buffalo, ₹4063 for goats and sheep. Further, the PKCC scheme provides ₹720 for chickens (for laying eggs). Further, no guarantee is required for a loan up to ₹1.6 lakh.
  • Instalment Pattern– Pashu Kisan Credit Card scheme offers loans to cattle farmers in 6 equal instalments.
  • Interest Rate-Banks or financial institutions usually offer loans at a 7% interest rate. However, under this scheme, livestock owners need to pay a 4% interest charge.
  • Rebate– Cattle-owners may get a rebate of 3% from the Central Government.
  • Repayment Period– This scheme comes with a repayment period of 5 years, meaning cattle-owners need to repay the loan amount with 5 years with the applicable interest charge.

Note: Beneficiaries must lease or own a registered fishing vessel, registered boat. In addition, they must have a fishing licence. Further, they must have permission for fishing in the sea, estuary, and fish farming/mariculture activities in estuaries.

What Are the Documents Required for Pashu Kisan Credit Card?

Following is a list of all the important documents of the Pashu Credit Card Scheme –

  • Duly filled-in and signed-in application form of PKCC scheme.
  • Address proof copy (Aadhaar card, Voter ID, PAN card, driving license.)

The government of India has published the PMAY list 2020-21 for Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Gramin (PMAYG) and Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Urban (PMAYU). You can check the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Gramin list 2020-21 and PMAYU list on PMAY official website.

Launched in 2015, the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) provides assistance to the poor living in Urban and Rural areas of India to have their own houses. The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Gramin (PMAY-G) has been extended upto the year 2024. The total target of pucca houses has also been revised to 2.95 crore houses. With an aim to provide a boost to the ‘Housing for All’ mission, in the Union Budget 2022-23, the finance minister has recommended that over 80 lakh affordable houses will be constructed and delivered by the year 2023. In addition to this, the Finance Minister has also recommended an allocation of Rs 48,000 crore for the stalled projects under the affordable housing schemes across the country. It will enable the timely delivery of the under-construction projects.

  • In the next step, you will have to fill the required fields in the “Selection Filters“-
  • Firstly, you will have to select the year (like 2021-2022 in fig.) for which they want to check the PM Awas Yojana Gramin list (PMAY LIST 2021-22) under the 1st option.
  • You will have to select “Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana Gramin” in the 2nd option.
  • After this, you need to select the “Name of State” in the 3rd option.
  • Then, you can select the “District” name in the 4th option.
  • Select the “Block” name in the 5th option.
  • Finally, you are required to select the “Panchayat” name in the 6th option.

Eligibility Criteria Under PMAY 2021

To be eligible for Credit Linked Subsidy Scheme (CLSS) under PMAY 2021 which provides subsidy on home loan interest, the applicant must meet the following income criteria

For Lower Income Group (LIG)/Economically Weaker Section (EWS)

  • The family as a unit may consist of a husband, Wife, unmarried daughters and unmarried sons
  • Yearly income of the household must be upto Rs 3 lakh (for LIG) and upto Rs 5 lakh (for MIG)
  • A maximum subsidy of Rs 2.67 lakh is allowed per applicant
  • The subsidy is applicable only upto Rs 6 lakh. After this limit, normal home loan interest rates will be applicable
  • The property must be co-owned by a female member of the family.

For Middle Income Group I and II

  • The annual income threshold for MIG I is between Rs 6 lakh and Rs 12 lakh for MIG I category. Whereas, the yearly income must be between Rs 12 lakh and Rs 18 lakh for MIG II income group.
  • It is desirable that a female is the co-owner of the property allotted
  • If there is an adult earning member, he/she will be considered as a separate entity.

Dairy Entrepreneurship Development Scheme was launched under the Department of Animal Husbandry, Dairying and Fisheries. The objective of NABARD Dairy Scheme is to promote the Dairy sectors and to improve the technologies of the Dairy production. Dairy Entrepreneurship Development Scheme will provide the financial assistance in step a better environmental structure for Dairy farms. Only 10% of total project cost will be contributed by the owner of the project and other 90% will be covered under the NABARD Dairy Scheme. Dairy Entrepreneurship Development (NABARD) Scheme 2020

Under the NABARD Dairy Scheme Government of India will provide the subsidy for the different cost of project is as follows. These subsidies are categorized according to General, SC/ST Category wise.

  • Small scale poultry farm – INR 50,000 to 1,50,000

3. Battery Cage Poultry Farm – Approximately 6,000 sq. ft. is required for the birds and infrastructure. In this type of farm, the birds will not be let loose to move around.

4. Completely Wild Poultry Farm – This type of farm is similar to the birds’ natural habitat with plenty of trees. Approximately 44,000 sq. ft. will be required for the same.

Step 3:  Deciding the Variation of Bird used in Poultry Farming

India is home to one of the biggest markets for poultry around the world. Despite the presence of a variety of birds such as chicken, geese, turkey, ducks, guinea fowl, quail, and many more, the poultry farms majorly raise chickens. There exist over 600 variations of chicken across the world, and 92 are grown in India to produce meat and eggs. The 3 most common categories of chicken in India are the following –

  1. Broiler chickens – They possess a high growth rate and can reach their fully grown stage in 8 weeks. Broiler chickens also have a high quantity of meat.
  2. Layer chickens –These birds are a unique breed under hens. They begin laying from 18 to 19 weeks and can continue to do so until 72 to 78 weeks. Layer chickens can produce above 250 eggs per year, and they consume approximately 2.25 kg of feed.
  3. Rooster chickens –These birds, also known as a cock, is the male gallinaceous bird. When they are young, they are called a cockerel, and they are called a rooster when they become an adult. They take time to grow but can guard the hens laying eggs due to their territorial instincts. Roosters are capable of quickly adapting to changing environments, and therefore they can be conveniently transported.

Step 4: Taking measures for the care and management of Poultry Farm

It is imperative to keep precautionary measures to ensure the birds’ health and safety, which will help in their proper nurturing and growth. There are some threats when running a poultry farm, but the main one remains poultry diseases. Providing clean water, nutritious food, and regular vaccinations to the poultry is essential. Taking adequate measures and having consistent regulation will ensure one does not face huge losses due to the diseases and other potential risks.

To encourage the farmers and entrepreneurs, Government of India has introduced many schemes and subsidies in poultry farm business. These are described below-

The poultry venture capital fund scheme is a primary scheme given by NABARD and Ministry of micro, small and medium scale enterprises for supporting farmers and helping to promote poultry farming activity. The scheme helps in strengthening and supporting the poultry industry by providing employment or entrepreneurship opportunities in backward areas in India which in turn helps in the economic growth of the country. In this article, the poultry venture capital fund scheme is explained in detailed with all the information.

The poultry venture capital fund scheme is described below:

  • PVCF encourages poultry farming scheme encourages especially farmers in non-traditional states and therefore supports the people in providing number of employment opportunities in backward areas;
  • Improves production of poultry products which have the high demand in the national market;
  • Improves productivity of units by providing proper training to the units through technology up-gradation;
  • Provides quality meat to consumers as per FAO standards and maintains all the hygienic conditions, and improves hygienic sale of poultry meat and products in urban areas and specially in neighbourhood societies through poultry dressing and marketing outputs;
  • Improves productivity by providing various facilitates for rearing of poultry species like quails, ducks, turkeys, which have good potential in market.
Assistance provided under Poultry Venture Capital Fund scheme

The following support is provided by the government under the Poultry Venture Capital Fund Scheme:

  • According to PVCF scheme entrepreneur’s contribution (margin) sanctions loans for up to Rs.1 lakh, banks may not hold on margin as per RBI rules and guidelines. For loans above Rs.1 lakh: 10% (minimum). For example if you want to set up a poultry business with a total investment of Rs.10 lakhs, then the entrepreneurs or farmers contribution or investment towards it must be at least Rs. 1 lakh to start.
  • For back ended capital subsidy it provides 25% of the outlay for people belonging to general category but 33.33 % is provided for SC/ST farmers and NE states including Sikkim. For example in the back-ended capital subsidy scheme, the entrepreneur needs to avail the bank loan and pay the instalments within due time. The final loan instalmentwhich is equal to 25% of the total investment amount for poultry farm would be adjusted as the back-ended capital subsidy.
  • Effective bank loan for the poultry farm subsidy is minimum 40% of the outlay. Bank loan must be obtained for at least of minimum 40% from the total project cost to avail subsidy. For example consider the total project amount is Rs.10 lakhs, and then the bank loan component should be at least Rs.4 lakhs.
Candidates eligible to apply for Poultry Venture Capital Fund scheme

The following entities are eligible to apply which helps to obtain assistance under the poultry venture capital fund scheme includes – farmers, individual entrepreneurs, NGOs, private limited company, cooperatives, groups of the unorganised and organised sector etc.

The below are the list of subsidies available for poultry farms in India. These includes-

  1. The subsidy for north east region, hilly areas, LWE affected districts are 33.33% for BPL/SC/ST and for the APL is 25%.
  2. For Breeding farms for low input technology birds species the ceiling subsidy provided is 25% for Rs. 7.50 lakh.
  3. The subsidy for central grower unitsupto 16000 layer chicks per batch is 25% for Rs. 10 lakhs.
  4. Subsidy for hybrid layer units nearly 20000 layers is 25% for Rs. 2 lakhs.
  5. The subsidy for rearing other species of poultry is 25% of Rs. 5 lakhs. It also varies based on the size and the species.
  6. The subsidy provided for feed mixing units one ton per hour is 25% for Rs. 4 lakhs.
  7. The subsidy provided for transport vehicles open cage is 25% for Rs. 2 lakhs.
  8. The subsidy provided fortransport vehicles refrigerated is 25% for Rs. 2 lakhs.
  9. The subsidy provided for retail outlets marketing units is 25% for Rs. 3.75 lakhs
  10. The subsidy provided forretail outlets dressing units is 25% for Rs. 2.50 lakhs
  11. The subsidy provided formobile marketing units is 25% for Rs. 2.50 lakhs
  12. The subsidy provided for cold storage for poultry products is 25% for Rs. 5 lakhs
  13. The subsidy provided for egg or broiler carts is 25%.
  14. The subsidy provided for large processing units is 25% for Rs. 125 lakhs
  15. The subsidy provided for Emu processing units is 25% for Rs. 250 lakhs
  16. The subsidy provided for feather processing units or litter management is 25% for Rs. 125 lakhs. But this also varies in size of the unit.
  17. The subsidy provided for technology up gradation or an innovation including waste disposal or incinerators, mini-hatchers, egg vending machines etc. is 25% for Rs. 125 lakhs for new and innovative projects or value added cap depending upon the scope and importance of the project.

The portal allows you to either convert an existing ration card to a digital card or if you do not have, you can apply for a new one. In both the case, it will convert to Non-Subsidised Ration Card (For Rural Area).

The PDS portal lists all state government portal where one can apply for a new Ration Card or the digital ration card. Visit this e-PDS link, and then locate your state. Click on the State link, and it will reveal the State government portal. I am taking Kolkata as an example here.

efore we go ahead in the details, the portal lets you apply online for Non-Subsidised Ration Card and or Conversion to Non-Subsidised Ration Card. If you cannot apply online, you can download Form 10 or Form X for rural and urban. Once you fill in the form, you can submit it to your local ration card office.

  • Click on the Display button to view all the details. It will display family Members’ details of the applicant on the screen.
  • You can choose to select all the listed members or only the ones you wish to convert to Non-Subsidized Digital Ration. Once done, click on the View Selected List button.
  • Next, Enter the DOB, EPIC no, Aadhar number, PAN, and click on Submit button.

The Aadhaar card must be linked with the bank account to receive this sum. Then the money will be directly credited to the individual’s bank account.

Here are the steps to check LPG status online:

  • Visit the official page of http://mylpg.in/
  • Choose your LPG service provider and click on ‘Join DBT’.
  • If you don’t have an Aadhaar number, click the other icon to join the DBTL option.
  • Now visit the official website of your preferred LPG provider.
  • A complaint box will open, enter the subsidy status.
  • Now proceed to click on the subsidy related (PAHAL).
  • Now scroll down to the ‘Subsidy Not received ’ icon.

Objectives of Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana (PMBJP)


With an objective of making quality generic medicines available at affordable prices to all, Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana (PMBJP) was launched by the Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers, Government of India in November, 2008. Under the scheme, dedicated outlets known as Janaushadhi Kendras are opened to provide generic medicines at affordable prices. As on 06.08.2021, 8012 Janaushadhi Kendras are functional across the country. Product basket of PMBJP comprises 1451 drugs and 240 surgical items. The Scheme is implemented by a society registered under the Societies Registration Act, viz., Pharma & Medical Bureau of India (PMBI) [erstwhile Bureau of Pharma PSUs of India(BPPI)]

  • Ensure access to quality medicines for all sections of the population especially the poor and the deprived ones.
  • Create awareness about generic medicines through education and publicity to counter the perception that quality is synonymous with high price only.
  • Generate employment by engaging individual entrepreneurs in opening of PMBJP Kendra.

Salient Features of Pradhan Mantri Jan Aushadhi Yojana 2021

  • The incentive provided to the Kendra owners has been enhanced from existing Rs. 2.50 lakh to up to Rs. 5.00 lakh to be given @ 15% of monthly purchases made, subject to a ceiling of Rs. 15,000/- per month.
  • One-time incentive of Rs. 2.00 lakh is to be provided for furniture & fixtures and computer & printers to the PMBJP Kendras opened in North-Eastern States, Himalayan areas, Island territories and backward areas mentioned as aspirational district by NITI Aayog or opened by women entrepreneur, Divyang, SCs& STs.
  • Prices of the Jan Aushadhi medicines are 50%-90% less than that of branded medicines prices in the open market.
  • Medicines are procured only from World Health Organization – Good Manufacturing Practices (WHO-GMP) certified suppliers for ensuring the quality of the products.
  • Each batch of drug is tested at laboratories accredited by ‘National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories’ (NABL) for ensuring best quality.

Swachh Bharat Abhiyan launched

The Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi ji started the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan on 2 October 2014, the delivery anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan is also referred to as the India Mission and Cleanliness Marketing campaign.

On the event of the delivery anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi ji, Honorable Shri Narendra Modi ji started this marketing campaign on the event of 145th delivery anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi ji. Asked to make it profitable, that is the largest campaign by way of cleanliness.

To change the picture of India on cleanliness, Shri Narendra Modi began this by creating a mass movement to attach the nation with a campaign.

Objectives of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.

Ensuring good management of stable and liquid waste by Gram Panchayat.
• Keep roads, pavements and settlements clean.
Stop open defecation under which hundreds of children die every year.
• Development of about 11 crore 11 lakh individual, group bathrooms, which can value 1 lakh 34 thousand crores.
• To create awareness about cleanliness by cleanliness.
• Mission objectives and background:
• More than 10 crore individual bathrooms have been constructed under this mission, because of which the rural areas of all of the states declared themselves ODF on 2 October 2019.
• Changing the mindset of the people by utilizing proper hygiene.
• Keeping the villages clean.
• By ensuring water provide in all homes, pipelines should be put in in villages by 2019 to make sure cleanliness.
