by Varshini

Aadhaar number serves as proof of identity and address in India. Here is a step-by-step guide you can follow to check whether your Aadhaar card is linked with your bank account.

According to the Supreme Court, now it is not compulsory to link your bank account with Aadhaar. But in case, if an individual wants to receive certain benefits from the Government of India, under Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) schemes, an individual is required to link his/her Aadhaar number with the welfare scheme to receive funds in the bank account.

If you also want to link your bank account with Aadhaar, then you can either submit a copy of your Aadhaar card at your home branch or link it online on the bank’s website.

However, if you have already submitted your Aadhaar details at your branch then through the UIDAI official website you can check whether your bank account has been linked to Aadhaar. Remember, only if your mobile number is linked to your Aadhaar then only you will be able to use this service.
