PSI Exam Study Tips & Selection Process in Karnataka

Karnataka State Police Department (KSP) has recently announced its Karnataka Si selection process for the 402 vacancies of Sub-inspector. The candidate has to qualify in both – Endurance Test/Physical Standard Test (ET/PST) and Written Exam to be selected for the Karnataka SI post. The ET/PST requirements for male and female candidates will be different. In the case of the written exam, there are two papers – Paper-I and Paper-II for 50 marks and 150 marks respectively. Paper-I is of the descriptive type where the candidate must clearly prove his/her English comprehension and writing skills. Then, the candidate has to solve paper-II which has objective-type questions on Mental Ability and Current Affairs.

Karnataka will announce the merit list on the official website to decide the ranking of candidates in the written exam. The online application process has begun and eligible candidates can apply till 31st May 2021. Read this article to understand the KSP SI selection process.

Karnataka SI Selection Process – Endurance Test/Physical Standard Test

First of all, you have to qualify in the Endurance Test to proceed to the Physical Standard Test. There are various activities and tasks you need to complete in both the tests (differs for male & female candidates) to qualify in those respective exams. 

The selection process for the Karnataka SI Endurance Test

There are different benchmarks for both males and females in this test. Here are the Endurance Test parameters for both categories with respect to various activities.

The Selection Process for the Karnataka SI Physical Standard Test

Once the candidate qualifies in the ET, he/she is eligible for the Karnataka SI PST exam. Even in this test, there will be separate qualification scores for male and female candidates.

Karntaka SI Selection Process – Written Exam

Candidates qualified in the first stage can appear for the written exam. This written exam consists of two papers for a total of 200 marks. Paper-I tests the candidate’s English/Kannada comprehension and writing skills through descriptive types of questions. In paper-II, the candidate will have to solve objective questions for a total of 150 marks. After this exam is completed, the Karnataka State Police will publish the merit list along with its results on the website. Here is the exam pattern for both – paper-I and paper-II.
